San Juan Story Collection

San Juan Story Collection is an online collection of images shared by members of the San Juan Island community for the benefit of all. Contributors dug through boxes, attics, basements and family albums to find unique possessions and valuable heirlooms which tell the story of life on San Juan Island. Though these items remain in the ownership of those who contributed, their generosity has provided access to a wealth of resources which were heretofore not available to others.

What You’ll Find: Items in the collection include photographs, audio clips, letters, postcards, cookbook, diary, signs, paintings and much more!

Local sponsors of the project include: the San Juan Island Library, San Juan Historical Museum, Town of Friday Harbor, and San Juan National Historical Park.

Funding: This grant was awarded by the Office of the Secretary of State Washington State Library Division, funded by the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
